Shari’s Jam [Apricot & Blueberry] — part of the Friendship Series

**FRIENDSHIP SERIES!** 

Meet Shari; the inspiration for our May offering in the Friendship Series…

Shari Becker…

Shari…  This one harkens all the way back to high school…

Shari has the unique distinction of knowing me the longest of any of my friends in this Friendship Series; we met when we were both in the 10th grade.

On that fateful first day of school, I noticed that one person in particular kept popping up in the majority of my classes — A.P.; Honors; Music; Theater… there she was, we ended up being in four out of six classes together initially; that would end up being five out of six, after I signed up for Marching Band, and there she was again, on the Drill Team!!  We quickly became fast friends — here was this incredibly cute, perky, sassy, fun loving individual that fate kept throwing in my path over and over again… what’s not to love about that?  We went from sharing a majority of our classes to also having lunch together, hanging out together during and after football games [when she wasn’t cheering!], hanging out after school together; and she was my FAVORITE dance partner – no one could move like that girl… with our friends Carolyn [Schwartzie!], Carol, & Diane, we were ‘The Clique’; and we were INSEPERABLE!!  I had a wonderful, and amazing high school experience, and Shari was a large part of that.  After high school, Shari was the first one to land a role in a production that wasn’t a school production — I still am extremely proud of her rendition of ‘Faustrada’ in “Pippin” – such an extraordinary talent… I miss her performing; I truly do.  I will be forever in love with her singing voice.

Shari’s birthday is May 13th; SO OF COURSE she had to be the May flavor!!  And one of my favorite things about Shari is her love for animals; there is no greater advocate out there for them, and her rescue efforts are tireless, and awe inspiring.

When I asked Shari about her favorite fruits and flavors, I took that information, and after playing around in the kitchen for a bit, I came up with this blending of two fruits — a perfect pairing, if I do say so myself… Apricot, and Blueberry.  The two fruits go together beautifully — I’m so proud of this one!!
